And the award for Best Supporting Actress goes to.....

ME!

Christopher and I spent last weekend together. On Saturday after we woke up late, lounged around, cuddled, fucked, and cuddled some more before we decided we ought to at least try to make a showing of it and get outside a bit. Downtown Buffalo isn't much to speak of, but there are several small destinations in easy walking distance of his front door. First up was a little coffee shop/book store - knowing I love books, Christopher encouraged me to browse, so I placed my coffee order with him and made my way to the stacks. Lucky for us the weather was beautiful for mid-November so we took my book and coffee sat on the patio - the coffee wasn't what I ordered (Christopher forgot between "what would you like" and "here you go") but I didn't mind and the book didn't get read as we couldn't stop talking to each other long enough to get more than a page under my belt.

So it goes currently between Christopher and I

Next up were several antique/faux vintage shops in the area. One was truly a place for finding unexpected and inexpensive treasures, another landed firmly in "are you fucking kidding me - a $300 picture frame?" territory. The others were your quickly becoming run of the mill buy your picture perfect craftiness here type stores - Pintrest perfect for just 50x what is worth. Chris and I laughed together as our witty reparte ran mostly toward the "oh my god, look at the sheeple" variety.

Our tastes, while incredibly varied when it come to what we define and enjoy as "art", does run together occasionally and we admired a few different pieces but both agreed that we prefer to create our own rather than have it done for us.

There were at least 6 of these types of shops within a 5 block radius and it's clear Buffalo is hoping to become a trendy boutique destination type town - which will play brilliantly to Christopher's plan to open his studio/gallery space - it will lend itself beautifully to the 2% who can really appreciate art and the other 98% will support its upkeep as they purchase things simply because "my dear, isn't this DAHLING' - do you think they have it on a coaster?" And best as I could tell there was nothing similar in the area.

As we were about to head back to his place, we decide to swing past the liquor store and I noticed a large sign declaring GALLERY - I mentioned it but Christopher said he'd never been, but based on what I could see, what did I think....well, there were signed for insurance and a tanning salon on the same signage so I was guessing this wasn't going to be too terribly avant guard...but we decided to make our way in and see exactly what was what.

From the moment I saw the space I realized this wasn't a professional operation - and knowing Christopher's sensitivities in this area I decided to step back and just let him absorb on his own, at his own pace...I made my way through, and I was perusing some pottery I overheard Christopher talking to the attendent - yes, he was artist, yes he knew of the local guild, no he wasn't currently actively involved, but maybe at some point - I knew better already to let this play out on its own and as the discussion started to loose steam I stepped in and we left.

20 minutes later we had our wine and our jackets and we were enjoying the sunset from the roof of his building...witty reparte running from my piss poor taste in adult beverages (sangria Rachel, really...) to the recall of his mentors advice to "watch the sunset, don't try to paint it, you'll never get it right"

More wine, cuddling, and fucking ensued

At the end of the evening, basking in our mutual infatuation, wrapped around each other, enjoying the caress of each others hands and the smell of each others necks we talked about what we were looking for in a partner and what was the best part of our day.

Moments were batted about and Christopher said "you were a fantastic supporting actress at the gallery today...thanks for that"

My heart soared

I've never wanted to be a leader, I've forever wanted to be a partner.
